Frequently Asked Questions
Have Questions?
How can I get more connected to St. John Lutheran before or after the service?
One of the best ways to get connected at St. John Lutheran is to talk to one of the elders, greeters, or pastor before the service. We will be glad to share some ways to get involved and introduce you to some members of our church family. You can also fill out the form below to give us a heads up or to have us reach out to you.
Do you have children’s ministry?
Yes! We have “Wednesday school” on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm during the school year. Come early to join us at our community meal and our Wednesday worship service. We welcome all ages to our worship services and believe that children are a vital part of the body of Christ.
What should I wear?
At St. John Lutheran you will see everything from
T-shirts and shorts to an occasional suit. We care about you as a person, not your wardrobe.
Do you have hearing assistive technology?
Yes. We have receivers with headsets and T-coil hearing loops.
What is your communion policy?
We follow the historic Biblical practice of closed communion. What this means is that we believe that it is important to first be instructed in receiving the Lord’s Body and Blood in the Sacrament of the Altar. We also confess that this meal is a family meal that expresses fellowship in unity of doctrine. We invite those that have been instructed and admitted to the altars of our sister LCMS churches to commune with us. We also want to share this meal with you. Talk to pastor about opportunities for communion instruction.
