Many thanks to the Ladies Evening Guild for their donations for the Boys & Girls Club “Day for Kids” at Robinson Park. We appreciate all the wonderful cakes and treats donated and we are grateful for your support of the Boys & Girls Club.

Bazaar Donations

All members of the congregation are invited to share their talents for this Church-Wide event. Items needed include: Handcrafts of all kinds, toys, quilts, holiday and fall decorations and ornaments, fresh garden produce, canned fruits and vegetables, woodcrafts, birdhouses, bird feeders and baked goods. Please bring your items to the church by Thursday evening, October 26. (Baked goods on Saturday morning, October 28). Your contributions are greatly appreciated and all proceeds will be used to the glory of God! Library Books

Church Library

The church library will be having its annual book sale during the fall bazaar. As you begin your fall cleaning please consider donating books, tapes, CD’s, hand held video games and videos for the sale. Bring your items in a bag marked “Book Sale” and place them in the library area. Your donations are greatly appreciated. The money from this sale allows us to make new purchases for the library.

Help Needed At The Upscale Resale Store

We are still looking for a group of 3-4 ladies who could volunteer to work once a month for 3-4 hours to sort and price items-cashiers are also needed. Please call 421-3477.

Angel

The Story of Angels

Have you ever had any questions about angels? If so, please join us for a Bible study titled “The Story of Angels.” This ten lesson study clearly lays out what God says about angels, and displays the purpose of angels relating to God’s plan. The study will begin October 10 at 7:00 PM, at the home of Doug and Karen Ross. If you have any questions about the study, please pick up a flyer describing the study in the narthex or call Doug at 421-2970.

Concordia University Visit Day

Calling all high school junior and seniors to Preview Day at Concordia University Wisconsin on Sunday, October 8-9, 2006! Come check out first hand what CUW is all about. During the overnight visit you will: tour campus, learn more about financial aid, have the opportunity to ask questions to a panel, meet with the faculty in your major, and experience campus life! NWD Katrina Outreach Event

100 people from the North Wisconsin District are needed to canvas 21,000 homes in Covington, LA (north of New Orleans) Two buses leave Wausau on Sat. Nov. 4 and return Sun. Nov. 12. All participants will be trained on what to do and say using the LCMS supported materials Harvesters for Christ. Cost is $150/person which includes bus transportation from Wausau, lodging, and most meals while in Covington. Registration forms are in the narthex. Globe and Cross

Lutheran World Relief

The annual collection for Lutheran World Relief will be held during the month of October. Lutheran churches from a radius of 40 miles will use a boxcar located in Wisconsin Rapids to receive the donations which will be distributed to areas of need around the world. The Board of Human Care will deliver your donations to the boxcar on November 4 th. There will be a labeled box set up in our church basement for these much needed items which include:

Children’s clothing (age 12 & under)
Sweaters
Men’s work clothing
Blankets, quilts, layettes
Above items can be used if in good condition. Please do not include shoes or women’s clothing.
Personal hygiene items, soap
School, health, sewing kits
