Christmas Adopt A Family

This year the Human Care Ministry Board will be participating in a new program. Through the Southern District Relief Office of the LCMS we will be adopting a family in Louisiana that has been impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. We have been given the Becky Sanchez family. Becky is 27 years old, the mother of 4 children and works for the Red Cross. The children are Angelica, Luis, Samantha and Mia.

There will be a small Christmas tree set up in the Narthex with information lists for you to take to make your holiday shopping easier. We will also be accepting monetary gifts and gift cards since we will have to ship the presents. Please bring your gifts to church by December 10 so that they can be mailed in plenty of time for Christmas.

This is going to be an ongoing project. The Sanchez family needs our thoughts and prayers to help them overcome a difficult time in their lives. We will be providing more information about the Sanchez family in the weeks to come. Thank you.

Thank You

The Fall and Holiday Bazaar Committee would like to extend a very large thank you to everyone who donated to the Bazaar and Bake Sale. The congregation contributed very generously to the event. Members (and non-members) showed their talents in many ways, including very attractive homemade decorations and ornaments, beautiful handwork, canned goods, garden produce and so much more! As usual, the many fine cooks and bakers showed their talents in the Bakery! Items were sold out early in the day!

The Committee would also like to thank the “auxiliary” members for the help they provided. Taylor Funeral Home, Higgins Funeral Home, Ritchay Funeral Home, and Country Tots are thanked for their part in promoting the event.

Profits from the Bazaar and Bake Sale are shared between the Ladies Evening Guild and the Ladies Aid, which in turn will donate the monies for several church projects.

Again THANK YOU for supporting this event! The sharing and giving of our talents in love, along with fellowship is what we as Christians should do!
