October 2005 Newsletter

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

A big thank you first to the able bodied men and women who helped unload the moving van with us on September 6th; second to everyone who in any way helped or assisted in the installation service and in preparing and serving the wonderful meal afterward. Your contribution, no matter how large or small was significant in making the afternoon a blessing for my family and myself and for your congregation!

Pastor and Susan Ader & Caleb Nordhaugen.

Bazaar Donations and Help Needed

Bazaar items that sell well and are asked for are: Handicrafts of all kinds, toys, woodcraft items, holiday & fall decorations, ornaments, garden produce, canned goods, and baked goods.

If you would like to donate items, please bring them to the church by Thursday evening, October 20. Please bring your baked goods by Saturday morning, October 22. If you would like to help set up or help with the bar-b-que luncheon please contact one of the committee members. For more information call Eunice Geiger 424-1026, Judy Shepard 423-2071, Mona Heindl 423-3962, Anita Westfall 421-2965 or Becky Snodgrass 423-2678.

Your contributions are greatly appreciated and all proceeds will be used to the glory of God’s work in His kingdom.

Church Library

The church library will be having its annual book sale during the fall bazaar. As you begin your fall cleaning please consider donating books, tapes, CD’s, hand held video games and videos for the sale. Bring your items in a bag marked “Book Sale” and place them in the library area. Your donations are greatly appreciated. The money from this sale allows us to make new purchases for the library.

We are also interested in your Lighthouse freebee cards. When you make purchases at the Lighthouse in the Shopko Mall be sure and have them stamp your card. Bring in your completed cards so we can use them to purchase more books for the library.

The library committee is also looking for new members. If you are interested or have any questions about our church library feel free to call Barb Johnson 424-5529 or Laurel Zager 421-5674.

A Pumpkin Prayer

Father in heaven, like a farmer, you have watched me grow,
And picked me out from all the rest to house your light and glow.
Open my mind to think of you. Open my mouth to sing.
Open my eyes to see your world and share the joy you bring.
Open my heart to be your home—a warm and welcome shell,
Washed clean of sin. A place wherein your love and light may dwell.
